Australia Day....

...is officially over for Australia...but I cannot figure out if I should be celebrating all my Aussie traditions on the date or backdating them a day so as to be on the correct day for Australia!!!???....It would be really hard to get excited the day before the actual date of everything......

All is going along here. Boyd has started at the academy. Charlotte returns to school on Monday after being off since Christmas on track break and I look forward to some free time to possibly do something artistic and creative! Could it be?....Surely not???!!!....It has seriously been a long time between drinks as far as my creative endeavours are concerned...but I remain optimistic about the prospect of actually doing something to feed my soul......It has been a relatively smooth transition moving countries...but it did require me to put myself on hold until everyone else in the family was adjusted and settled....and I do believe that day has arrived! Monday from 9am until 2:40pm will be all about me!!!!...and I'm excited!!! Watch this space.....Australians all let us rejoice!!!!!!.......

Snow Bunny...

...and loved it! Lake Tahoe put on a whole winter wonderland show for our visit! We were in heaven and even made a snowman!!!......

I got all things that are good...

...after a weekend with these amazing, talented, gorgeous women who seriously filled me up with all sorts of fun and frivolity!  WOW! Seriously...girl time...making new friends...talking about anatomy, religion, renaming body parts, shopping, taking photos, hey-oh-inging, watching you tube, laughing till we cried, eating out together, imitating disturbed english man-fishes and playing sleepovers for a weekend is just the recipe for filling your soul up! I feel so full! Thanks girls!!! You are an incredible bunch! It was an honour!

Make yourself a dang quesadilla Napolean!

We had a fun week in California with Em and Mick and Ivy this past week. Got introduced to cheese quesadillas [...it's kaysadiya...don't emabarass yourself by saying it how it sounds!!!...for goodness sakes!!!] and guacamole!!!!!....and I am a big fan! They are seriously so good! I am just loving the Mexican food here. San Diego is a really beautiful place. I did a little shopping because I was worried I would hurt myself if I saw myself in one of the 4 outfits I have been wearing over and over since I arrived here!!! We are living out of a small case each until we decide where we are going to settle and I am not a wear the same thing over and over again kinda girl!....So it was nice to wear something different for the first time in 3 weeks!!!

We are back in Vegas again...for now...while Boyd pursues some job opportunities. The car said it was 45 degrees celsius yesterday as we were driving around to look at bike and skate parks for Aidan to feel abit at home! So strange how you get used to different weather so quick! I was dying in the heat when we first arrived...now I find it strangely comforting. Well I'm off for a dip in the pool....I wonder if I could convince someone to come out with a pina colada mocktail and fan me with a palm leaf.....

What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas!

Yes...we are in Las Vegas, Nevada! It was a real stinker yesterday....110 degrees fahrenheit....about 44 degrees celcius for you aussies!!! It was hot! Luckily we have a pool here at Kurtis and Tash's house so we were in and out all day! Aaaaah...[contented sigh]...this is the life! I could get used to this! We are off to stay at Circus Circus hotel tonight [Thanks Kurtis!!!]...and we're going to explore the strip with the kids. I know...SO crazy to battle the strip on a Friday night but thats the beauty of just staying overnight...I so want to see a cirque de soleil show while I'm here...maybe for my birthday.. [hint, hint Boyd]...ahem...that's this Saturday Boyd!!!

This place has grown alot just in the last three years...and so has Salt Lake City!!! OMGoodness...we could not believe it when we were driving the I-15 through Utah...it is totally crazy! I can't believe the growth...

We spent our first week in Idaho with family and had a great big family reunion which was so fun! We got to meet almost everyone in the family on the same day. I think there was a general consensus that we are either very brave or very silly just up and moving continents like we have!!!...I'm a firm supporter of the "Very Brave" notion. Hahahaha!..Idaho is SO beautiful!! There is so much untouched wilderness there...just driving through it fills you up!

Speaking of driving...we own a car! It was so sad as we sold off all our belongings in Perth...but now we can enjoy rebuilding our lives here. We are the proud new owners of a Chevrolet Venture...aka minivan...which over here translates as me being a "soccer mom" so everyone keeps telling me!!! It is the first thing that is ours over here and it feels good!

We head off to California next week! I'll keep you posted....

10 hours and counting!!!...

...Yes! We leave Australia tonight! It has been a 2 week round of goodbyes and I can't believe we have finally reached the day we leave!!! What a mix of emotions I am feeling!

Thankyou to all those people in my life who have been so supportive and helpful throughout this busy and hectic time of our family's lives! I have felt so overwhelmed by all of your efforts to help us on our way!...Is there a message in there somewhere?...Helping us to get out of your lives? Hahaha...seriously tho....family and friends in Australia we love you all and will miss you terribly!

...and USA...WATCH OUT!...I'm there within36 hours!!!....

Sydney, Here We Come!

We are finally off to Sydney for our final interview with the US Consulate over there! Wooohooo! I am seriously getting so excited now! This is the last step before being able to move to the US! When we arrive home from Sydney we'll be able to buy our tickets and head for USA!

...even Sydney is exciting because I've only ever spent a few hours there! Plus, we get to see Nicole and Ryan!...but alas!...we have been summoned right at the same time as Em is here!...in Perth!!!...We'll only get a day together! How sad is that?!....timing!!!...but we'll see you guys in LA!

Aaaah...life feels SO good right now!.....

Easter Break

We have just arrived back from a magical week of camping down Busselton way! We went with my sister and some of her extended family. Can you believe my sister has grandkids???!!! Makes me feel old! It was so much fun! I love Busselton....it's such a beautiful place! It was so nice to have no tv, no phones, no routine! Absolutely blissful! We did a few day trips around the area to some of the surrounding beaches and towns. Margaret River is so gorgeous! It has built up alot but retained it's village like atmosphere!...and the shopping was great!...Boyd had trouble with the whole shopping while camping situation.....but funnily enough....I didn't mind it!

Our last camping trip was with my bf Nicole, Ryan and her family...sniffle, sniffle...they have just left Western Australia to return to live in Sydney with their two beautiful kids! She is pregnant with her third and I probably won't meet that little soul for a long time! It's so sad when you connect with people and then have to say goodbye...but then it's so amazing when you connect with people....I wouldn't trade the connecting for the sadness of a farewell! So bye NicoleXX...So glad to have met you and known you! Love you! Miss you!

Well, we still wait to be beckoned to Sydney for our final interview for our US Immigration visas so I'll see them then. That is the last step before being allowed to go so I'm really starting to get excited again! It has been a long process but I am glad we have had this extra time with each other without the stress that was with us all last year! It's been a really nice time for our family in this new house. I'll keep you posted on the whole moving thang!...Ok...I know my track record ain't good right now...but I'm a reformed blogger.....honest!....
